A permit to operate another healthcare facility

The medical profession is exercised i) in an employment relationship or in a similar employment relationship, ii) on the basis of a permit to operate a healthcare facility (hereinafter referred to as the “permit”) or a permit issued pursuant to a special regulation, iii) on the basis of a license to perform an independent medical practice, iv) on the basis of a license to perform medical assessment activities, or v) on the basis of a trade license pursuant to a special regulation.

An application for the issuance of a permit is submitted by the applicant to the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic for the operation of:

1. a specialised hospital,
2. a biomedical research facility,
3. a tissue establishment,
4. a reference laboratory,
5. a fixed ambulance emergency service,
6. an ambulance of an auxiliary ambulance emergency service,
7. an ambulance of the transport health service,
8. an epidemiological ambulance,
9. a detention centre,
10. a juvenile detention centre.

An application for the issuance of a permit is submitted by the applicant to the self-governing region within the framework of the delegated state administration for the operation of:

1. a facility for the provision of one-day healthcare,
2. a day-care facility,
3. a polyclinic,
4. a home nursing care agency,
5. a facility of joint examination and treatment units,
6. a general hospital,
7. a medical centre,
8. a hospice,
9. a nursing home,
10. a mobile hospice.

An application for the issuance of a permit is submitted by the applicant to the Healthcare Surveillance Authority for the operation of:

1. an emergency medical assistance ambulance,
2. an emergency health assistance ambulance,
3. an emergency medical assistance ambulance with mobile intensive care unit equipment,
4. a helicopter emergency medical service ambulance,
5. an emergency health assistance ambulance “S”.
